Why did you choose the dental hygiene field?
“Growing up, I loved arts and crafts, so I knew I wanted my career to let me work with my hands. I also love getting to know new people, so being a dental hygienist lets me combine my two passions.”
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
“The most rewarding experience for me is to see tangible results — a bright smile after polishing, no swelling after gum treatment, or someone's bad breath gone. But the absolute best reward is seeing patients who were scared of the dentist come back without any fear!”
What do you like to do when not working on patients' teeth?
“I love to travel — it opens up my outlook and helps me respect diversity. I love drawing and crafts, it calms my mind. And I love taking walks with my border collie, Max. He always cheers me up.”
What would you like to tell potential patients?
“Just come over! Even though people are often nervous about their first visit, it doesn't have to be stressful. We can do as much as you're ready to do — we can even just talk. Give us a try and you won't regret it.”
